How to update Motorola Defy to Android 4.o.4 Ice Cream Sandwich super stable ROM firwmare:

  1. Download the Android 4.0.4 ICS by CM9 zip ROM file from HERE.
  2. Download Google Apps file from HERE. This file is required so that your phone will feature all Google applications for Android after the installation of the ROM. Click that link to learn more and to download the correct Gapps file for your phone. However, if you don’t know which one to choose, then simply download the CM9 Gapps zip as the ROM you’re about to install is CyanogenMod 9 based.
  3. Move the ICS ROM and Gapps zip packages on your phone’s internal sdcard. Do not extract their contents, simply place the files where I’ve told you without the need of creating any subfolders.
  4. Power OFF your smartphone and then boot into recovery mode. Do it by pressing and holding simultaneously the ‘volume down’ and ‘power ON’ keys. When in recovery mode move to the next step.
  5. Now, select ‘ wipe data/ factory reset’ and confirm its action. Return to the recovery mode main screen.
  6. Select ‘install zip from sd card’ and then ‘choose zip from internal sd card’. Find the Android 4.0.4 ICS zip file you moved on your phone at step 3. Confirm the installation and wait until it completes.
  7. Now, you need to install the Google Apps. Repeat the actions at step 6, only that instead of the ROM file, you need to select the gapps.zip file. Confirm the installation.
  8. When the ROM and the Gapps files have been flashed you will need to return to the main recovery screen by selecting ++Go Back++.
  9. Select ‘reboot system now’ and then  wait for the phone to load the home screen after the first boot is complete.
After the first boot is complete you should see the home screen loading and now your Motorola Defy device is running the latest CM9 super stable Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich ROM firmware. Please note that the first boot process will take a while before loading all files and you should give it at least 10 minutes to complete its actions.
In case your phone gets into a boot loop and it cannot load the homescreen of Android 4.0.4 then you might’ve bricked it and now you have to repeat all the steps listed in the tutorial installation guide because you might’ve skipped or forgot to apply one of the steps listed there. Remember that we cannot be held responsible in case something went wrong and your phone has been bricked.

We know that lot of Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean test firmwares were leaked for the Samsung Galaxy S3. Here is an official build that is available for download to flash into your Galaxy s3 via Odin.

Please make sure that:

- This Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean I9300XXDLIB
is only compatible Galaxy S3 GTi9300  and not is for Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile or others.
- Your Galaxy S3 must running Original ROM and not a custom ROM. If your Galaxy S3 is running Custom Rom, download and flash original ROM into your Galaxy S3.
- Create a backup of your phone in clockworkmod recovery to external storage.
- Battery power at least 80% full.
Download I9300XXDLIB
(zip file) then unzip this file to your PC. Now you will get I9300XXDLIB_I9300OXFDLI1_XEO.tar.MD5
Step 1: Set your phones into USB debugging mode: Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB debugging.Then turn off your phones.
Step 2: Put your galaxy s3 into download mode by  pressing and holding VolumeDown + Home + Power simultaneously.

Step 3: Download Odin and start ODIN on PC.
Step 4: Connect the device to your computer using USB.
Step 5: Wait a few seconds, the ODIN screen will show that a device is now connected
- If ODIN not detect your device,  then install drivers here and then put your device into download mode. Odin will detect your device when it says COM5,COM6,etc.
Step 6: Click the PDA button, then select I9300XXDLIB_I9300OXFDLI1_XEO.tar.MD5
Step 7: Press “Start”. ODIN will start flash the firmware.
Step 8: After Flash complete, your Galaxy S3 will Boot into Android System Recovery Mode.

كما نعلم ان سامسونج واخيرن قد اطلق تحديث  Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean لجميع  الجالكسي اس 3 في دول العالم وبمكان اي شخص يمتلك هذا الجهاز التحديث عن طريق OTA التحديث الهوائي وهو من خلال الذهاب لـ “الضبط – حول الجهاز – تحديث البرنامج – تحديث ” وتخليه يعمل بحث عن اي تحديث جديد واذا حصله رايح يقوم بتثبيته على الجهاز وتحميله

لاكن البعض يقول يابو بس انا جربت هالشي ولاكن مانفع لم ييظهر معي تحديث 4.1.1 الجيلي بين عشان احمله , اقوله في هالحاله يجب عليك التحديث عن طريق   وسوف اشرح لكم الطريقة بعد شوي
وايضن اذا لم تنجح هالطريقة فالاكيد انك عامل روت على جهازك وبهالحاله اكيد ماراح تقدر تحدث لان الاجهزة الي عليها روت تكون غير قادره على تلقي الاخطاارات الخاصة بتحديثات البرامج المثبته ولازم تعمل ان روت للجهاز
طيب الان رايح نشرح لكم الخطوات السابقة لطريقة التحديث للجيلي بين
الطريقة 1: التحديث الهوائي OTA زي ماقلت لكم تروح “الضبط – حول الجهاز – تحديث البرنامج – تحديث “
الطريقة 2: التحديث عن طريق برنامج Samsung Kies
  • اولن تاكد ان جهازك ماعليه روت
  • بعدين نروح نحمل البرنامج على الكمبيوتر من الموقع الرسمي لسامسونج من هنا
  • وبعد كذا نثبت البرنامج على الكمبيوتر عادي واذا خلص نشبك الجالكسي في الكمبيوتر عبر USB واعمل زي ماهو موجود بالصورة

الطريقة 3: هي ان نشيل الروت الي على الجهاز اذا كنت مسوي له اول عشان تقدر تحدث الجهاز للنسخة الرسميه من الجيلي بين ويقبل معاك التحميل , الطريقة سهله وبضغطة زر نشيل الروت
  • نحمل هذا التطبيق من  على الجهاز وهو 
  • بعد كذا نثبت التطبيق ونفتح ونضغط على “Temp un-root”
  • هذا كل شي وبمكانك استعادة الروت بالضغط على “restore root“

افضل طريقة لعمل الروت وبدون اي تأثير على الضمان او الكيرنال
وبدون جهاز كمبيوتر

مجربه على جهازي جالكسي نوت نسخة ايسكريم 4.0.3
اولا : نقوم بانزال الملفين ونحطها في ذاكرة الجهاز الخارجية 
CWM.zip

SU-Busybox-Installer.zip
  1. نطفئ الجهاز تماما ..
  2. نقوم بتشغيل الجهاز .
  3. بالضغط والاستمرار على زر التشعيل وزر الهوم وزر الصوت للاعلى بنفس الوقت

ملاحظة 
يتم النزول والصعود في القائمة بأزرار الصوت 
والاختيار بزر (التشغيل)البور 

  1. نختار apply update from external storage
  2. ثم نختار install zip from sd card
  3. ستفتح لنا الذاكرة الخارجية 
  4. نختار الملف اللي حملناه SU-Busybox-Installer.zip
  5. ثم نضغط زر التشغيل للتثبيت
  6. انتظر حتى ينتهي ثم اعد تشغيل الجهاز
  7. وبكذا يكون جهازك معمول له روت آمن جدا
  8. بعد تشغيل الجهاز حمل السوبر يوزر المدفوع بآخر اصدار

Step 1: Download the following files from the official thread [XDA-Developers]:


CWM.zip

SU-Busybox-Installer.zip
Place all these files directly under /sdcard on your device’s internal memory.

Step 2: Shutdown your device. Once it is completely shut down, press and hold Volume Down + Power + Home buttons until you see a screen asking you to press to press Volume Up. Press said button to complete booting into Recovery Mode.

Step 3: Select apply update from external storage and then navigate to where you placed CWM.zip. Select it.

Step 4: Your device should now boot into ClockworkMod (CWM) Recovery.

Step 5: From CWM, choose install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard > SU-Busybox-Installer.zip

Step 6: From main menu of CWM, choose reboot system now.

If you followed the steps correctly, your Samsung Galaxy Note International GT-N7000 will now be rooted on Android 4.0.3 ICS.
